Newsletter - September 2008 (Previous Newsletters: Jan '08, Mar '07) What a fun filled summer for us this year. This is the first summer since 2005 that I actually could enjoy outdoor activities and soak up the sun. The first summer that hasn't been 'sucked up' with emergency room visits and surgeries. Tom and I have enjoyed every minute. Nearly each weekend this summer we have had the opportunity to spend at Tom's sister's lake house. There is never a dull moment when you add a two year old in the mix. It was so fun to experience summer through our Granddaughter's eyes. Who thought at my age I would be hopping like a frog or rolling down a hill? Bella June is 2 ½ years old. She is very advanced for her age which makes each day an experience. The photos below were taken at the MN State Fair. She was a little confused, as we had taken her to the zoo the weekend before. She was so excited and told me she wanted to see animals. (which at the state fair we are bound to visit the pig barn, the horse barn and you can't go without seeing the chickens in the poultry barn) Well she informed us ALL she wanted to see …..was a "whale". One photo is Bella telling us she "is NOT going back in the stroller". (Notice the authority of the hands on the hips - I have been told that is classic Grandma) The other photo is a big twinkle eyed smile as she got to share a strawberry malt with Grandpa. Once the leaves have fallen and the gardens are all tucked in for the winter, I will send my "deer hunter" off into the woods. I will spend those weeks snuggled in my stitching chair with needle in hand; creating new hardanger designs to share with you after the first of the new year. Best Stitches, Julie ![]()
